    over the past couple of months/weeks/whatever we’ve been experiencing late posts to tldaily and defIMG has been completely offline posting-wise for a while and we’re working hard as fuck to make it work properly

    so i ask:

    what the flying fuck are you people doing to this server? jesus fucking christ guys, its a professional IBM server which can handle a metric motherfuckton of traffic and its getting taxed to hell, if I get DDoS’d im going to murder a small animal.

    this is the longest uptime Ive ever seen.. usually these run flawlessly but Im an idiot and didnt really set it to work like that, but fuck you its working and I refuse to touch it

  9. new processors wee

    new xeon processors, quad core 4.2 ghz oc’d>4.6 ghz.

    it almost died so now the air con is back on again, but I told it to encode some of the movies it downloaded (BluRay) to h.264 1280x720, and its saving locally so there should be no lag since all the network db is on a seperate drive. happy.

    actually no it isn’t because the encoder is multithreaded and is eating BOTH CPU’S. fuck

    prime95 later tonight, I calculated (well not really because Im fuckin lazy) that the encoding will be done by about 12ish, so expect the speed to go down a bit at around midnight-1AM

    and if anyone knows how to do fuckin anything advanced in python, go fuck yourself because I FUCKING HATE PYTHON. thanks to those who helped on various forums and IRC.

  10. recoding db, full speed in a few hours when cache is done eating itself

    im currently recoding some of the db in Python and running a GUI over my current [text only] UNIX setup, so i can use both, but the GUI will be happier on my phone, because my phone is picky about what it can log into, come on RIM, its fucking text on the simplest god damn operating system… no.. TEXT EDITOR on the planet.

    i think its sad that my favourite application on any platform is vi
